Health coverage is one of the most valuable benefits you can enjoy as an OU Health employee. OU Health offers benefit programs to help keep you and your family healthy, as well as provide important protection in the event of illness of injury.
OU Health offers three medical plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, a PPO plan, and two High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Choose what's best for your healthcare needs and budget.
Prescription drug coverage is offered through Prime Therapeutics (Blue Cross Blue Shield). By enrolling in one of the three medical plans, you're automatically enrolled in the prescription benefit plan through Prime Therapeutics. Visit any in-network pharmacy including any OU Health Pharmacy to maximize your prescription benefits.

If you're enrolled in one of the High Deductible Health Plans offered by OU Health, you may be eligible to contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Individuals can contribute up to $3,850* and any other coverage level can contribute up to $7,750* annually.
This account allows you to pay for a qualified medical, prescription, dental, and vision expenses on a pre-tax basis. These funds roll over from year to year and are not forfeited. OU Health contributes up to $500 (individually) and $1,000 (family) annually on a prorated, quarterly basis.

OU Health offers three Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) through Optum Financial: Health Care FSA, Limited Purpose FSA and a Dependent Care FSA. Employees enrolled in either the Health Care or Limited Purpose FSA will receive a debit card to use for eligible expenses.
A Health Care FSA is available to employees who are not enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). A Health Care FSA can help you pay for eligible medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision expenses. You can contribute up to $3,050* to your HCFSA. Up to $610 of unused funds are eligible for rollover to the following year.
A Limited Purpose FSA allows you to pay for eligible dental and vision expenses. Medical expenses are not eligible expenses on this account. LPFSAs are compatible with an HSA. You can contribute up to $3,050* annually. Up to $610 of unused funds are eligible for roll over to the following year.
A Dependent Care FSA can help assist with expenses for childcare, adult dependent care, preschool, or after-school programs while you work. You may have both an HSA account and a Dependent Care FSA. You can contribute up to $5,000* annually.

OU Health offers an Employee Assistance Program through Supportlinc provided by CuraLinc Healthcare. OU Health values employees' well-being, which is why this is available to you at no cost. All household members are eligible for seven free counseling sessions per year, per event. Having regular dental checkups and maintaining good oral hygiene is important for your overall well-being. OU Health partners with Delta Dental to offer three dental plans: PPO Choice Advantage, PPO Basic and PPO Premier. Use dental coverage to assist with the cost of routine checkups and any other dental needs for you and your family.
HOW enhances benefits for those with a higher risk for caries and/or periodontal disease enrolled in Delta Dental of Oklahoma’s dental plan. After your dental office uses the HOW-approved assessment, you could receive up to four FREE cleanings, as well as fluoride treatments, sealants and additional oral hygiene instruction per year to help improve your oral health.

Eye care is an important aspect of your overall health. OU Health offers two vision plans: the Base Plan and the Enhanced Plan through VSP. Vision coverage helps employees and their families with eye care expenses such as exams, glasses and contact lenses.

OU Health is proud to offer basic life and voluntary life insurance through The Hartford to help protect employees and their families from unexpected events. Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance are available to OU Health employees at no cost. Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance are available to OU Health employees.
Short-Term Disability (STD) is offered through Sedgwick and paid for by OU Health. When you're ill or unable to work due to a disability, STD can help assist you in meeting your financial needs.
Long-Term Disability (LTD) is offered through The Hartford and is available for purchase to OU Health employees. There are three options available, make sure to reference your benefits guide to learn more.
Leaves of Abscence (LOA): Whether you're experiencing a personal illness or an injury, expanding your family, or seeking to take time away from work to care for a loved one, OU Health offers a variety of leave options, managed by Sedgwick, including FMLA (intermittent and continuous), non-FMLA, military, educational and personal leave.

When you become an employee of OU Health, you're eligible to participate in the 401(k) savings plan with Fidelity. Offering a 401(k) plan allows employees to start saving for a financially secure retirement. By participating in the 401(k) plan, you're able to contribute before-tax money to help you meet your financial goals.
OU Health matches 100% of your contributions to the 401(k) plan from 3-9% of your eligible pay that's based on your years of service. You also have the option to contribute post-tax money into a Roth IRA. Before-tax and Roth after-tax contributions count towards the IRS maximum of $22,500 in 2023.

OU Health’s voluntary benefits are a select group of after-tax plans managed through the provider, Corestream. Our voluntary benefits include:
For voluntary benefits, you pay the full cost of coverage, which is deducted from your paycheck on an after-tax basis. Upon enrollment in a voluntary benefit plan, you'll receive information electronically for the individual policy from each carrier that describes the benefits and procedures to access benefits. Most coverage is portable, which means you can keep it even if you change jobs or retire.

To help provide family-care options for OU Health parents and care providers, there are three programs offered through Bright Horizons:
Emergency Back-up Care: To help OU Health employees when there may be a change in their schedule or when there is an unexpected event. Elderly care is included within Back-up Care.
Virtual Tutoring: You can reserve virtual tutoring to help your children that are ages 5-18 years old.
Enhanced Family Support: Through the OU Health Bright Horizons portal, you can search for ongoing childcare that fits your needs.

Infertility Benefit: OU Health also offers a $20,000 infertility benefit to help grow your family through the OU Health Medical plan. To help you learn and grow, tuition assistance is available for job-related courses and undergraduate-degree programs at most accredited colleges and universities. If you have at least 90 days of employment at OU Health and are a regular full-time or part-time employee, you're eligible to participate. You could receive up to $5,250 per calendar year to help cover the cost of tuition, books, lab fees and registration fees.

OU Health provides full- and part-time employees with paid time off benefits immediately upon employment for illness and injury, vacations, personal time, holidays and short-term disability waiting periods. However, accrued hours may not be used until the pay period during which the first 90 days of employment is completed.
