Introducing PLANselect, a new tool to help you navigate your medical coverage decision-making process.
UAH offeres employees the choice of two medical plans. One plan is a traditional PPO plan and the other is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Both plans offer comprehensive healthcare benefits, prescription drug coverage and in-network preventive covered at 100%.
The key difference in the two plans is the amount you pay out-of-pocket when you need care and the amount of premium you pay. Those enrolled in the HDHP pay more out-of-pocket for services but save money in health insurance premiums. They also receive money deposited in a HSA - Health Savings Account that can be used to offset out-of-pocket medical expenses.
You have access to the PLANselect tool to help you determine which plan is right for you and your family based on your salary and your utilization of medical services. Additionally we have the resources available: the Benefits Guide & The Open Enrollment website to provide a summary of benefits available under each plan.
