ABC’s benefits open enrollment takes place from October 14-25. This is your once-a-year opportunity to make changes for the 2025 plan year. Remember to enroll during this time. You must make an active election for your 2025 benefits.

Anthem Total Health Total You: The right people, tools, answers: all at the right time.

With Total Health Total You, you get the simple, personalized, and relevant health support you need, when you need it most. From getting quick answers to connecting you to a primary care nurse for guidance on the more complicated stuff, it’s carefully tailored to your needs.

It starts with a download:

• Find everything you need to know about the resources available to you right through your smartphone.

• See medical and pharmacy benefits all in one place

• Pull up your member ID card

• Check spending to date

• Search for doctors and hospitals in your plan or find an urgent care center, even when you're traveling

ConsumerMedical is your medical ally that provides you with access to a team of nurses, physicians, and medical researchers to help you choose the right doctor, get a second opinion, or support you if you’ve been recommended surgery.

Surgery Decision Support:

With Blue View Vision, you'll have all the help you need to manage the health of your eyes. Your vision insurance plan will cover checkups, so you can keep your prescription up to date.

WELLNESS

Wellness Program

As part of the ABC family, we encourage each team member to be their best, healthiest self, and we're happy to offer the ABC Wellness Program in partnership with HealthAdvocate to help you achieve your well-being goals. With the ABC Wellness Program, you can earn incentive dollars for completing activities such as completing your annual physical exam, getting a preventive dental exam, getting your flu shot, completing wellness challenges, and so much more.

When you complete eligible activities, you can earn contributions toward your HSA.

SPENDING ACCOUNTS

A Health Savings Account, better known as an HSA, is a benefit that allows you to choose how much of your paycheck you’d like to set aside, before taxes are taken out, for healthcare expenses or to use as a retirement savings tool. The HSA’s unique, triple-tax savings means the money you contribute, any earnings from investments, and withdrawals for eligible expenses are all tax free, making it a powerful savings and retirement tool! In order to be eligible for an HSA, you must be enrolled in one of the High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHP or Value HDHP). 

Think of your HSA as a personal savings account. Any unspent money in your HSA remains yours, allowing you to grow your balance over time. When you reach age 65, you can withdraw money (without penalty) and use it for anything, including non-healthcare expenses. This plan offers more tax savings than a traditional Roth 401(k) and IRA, making it a powerful option for diversifying your retirement portfolio.

Before age 65, use your HSA for eligible healthcare expenses. The list includes but is not limited to:

• Copays and coinsurance
• Doctor visits and surgeries
• Over-the-counter medications (first aid, allergy, asthma, cold/flu, heartburn, etc.)
• Prescription drugs
• Dental and orthodontia 
• Vision expenses, such as frames, contacts, prescription sunglasses, etc

A Flexible Spending Account, or FSA, is a benefit that allows you to choose how much of your paycheck you’d like to set aside, before taxes are taken out, for healthcare expenses. This saves you money by reducing your taxable income. An FSA is employer owned, meaning you forfeit any unused money back at the end of a plan year vs. an HSA which is employee owned, meaning you can take all money in the account with you even if you leave the company.

One benefit to an FSA is that all of your FSA funds are available to spend right away – on January 1. When spending your FSA money on eligible healthcare expenses, you may be asked to provide documentation, containing information such as:

• When the service was received
• Where the service was received
• Who received the service
• What service was received
• The amount/cost of the service received

You can submit your claim via your mobile app, your online account, or manually via the mail. The best form of receipt or documentation is an Explanation of Benefits as it contains all of the necessary information for Discovery Benefits to approve your claim.

A Dependent Care FSA, or DCFSA, lets you pay for eligible dependent-care expenses while you reap the benefits of additional tax savings. You’re spending the money either way. This way, eligible childcare and other dependent-care costs are a little less.

Your Dependent Care FSA can be used to pay for out-of-pocket daycare expenses, after-school programs and day-camp programs for dependents up to the age of 13. It also covers costs for disabled spouse or dependents of any age.

Your household can elect up to $5,000 annually through the Dependent Care FSA.

EAP

The ABC Employee Assistance Program, offered through HealthAdvocate, is a confidential resource to help you address any stress or mental health concerns you may have.

During this pandemic, you may be feeling overwhelmed. HealthAdvocate is here to support you! With the EAP, you can talk to a licensed professional counselor confidentially, get resources for balancing work and family life, and receive coaching with day-to-day challenges. You'll automatically have these confidential services available to you as an ABC team member – no election is required.

Advocacy

Navigating your benefits, finding care and understanding medical claims can be overwhelming. HealthAdvocate is here to help! Benefits specialists and healthcare experts with HealthAdvocate can help you make sense of an insurance claim or billing issue, guide you in the transition from traditional insurance to Medicare and even help you find elder care, assisted living, transportation services and more! These resources are at no cost to you and can be used by anyone in your family.

No matter where you are on your journey to retirement, Transamerica's resources are designed to help you prepare for the future you want.

Get a sense of your financial health with easy-to-use personal finance calculators, designed to help you discover what it will take to reach your savings goals.

Your participation in the 401(k) plan is automatic. Choose your contribution rate, the money you set aside each paycheck. ABC may also match your contributions if you are eligible. For more information on eligibility and plan design, review your benefit guide. 

VOLUNTARY BENEFITS

Allstate Accident Insurance 

Most major medical insurance plans only pay a portion of the bills. With accident insurance from Allstate Benefits, you can gain the advantage of financial support, thanks to the cash benefits paid directly to you! Allstate Accident Insurance is protection for accidental injuries on -- and off -- the job, 24 hours a day.

Allstate Critical Illness Insurance

No one is ever really prepared for a life-altering diagnosis. Critical Illness coverage from Allstate helps provide financial support if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness. When a diagnosis occurs, you need to be focused on getting better and taking control of your health, not stressing over financial worries. Receive a cash benefit based on the condition, even receive $50 for your annual wellness exam.
