The County is pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package for our employees
- Up to $3,500 per year to repay employee educational expenses.
- Up to $8,000 to repay student loan expenses.

The County offers employees an optional 457 tax deferred supplemental retirement plan through VOYA. Contributions are made on a pre-tax basis. The maximum amount an individual may defer is updated annually by IRS regulations.

All full-time or regular part-time County employees are enrolled in the Maryland State Pension & Retirement System (MSRPS) or the Sheriff’s Office Retirement Plan (SORP) with employer contributions of 13.2% (MSRPS) or 41% (SORP).

Employees enrolled in our health plan have exclusive access to the Marathon Health Center in Leonardtown.
- No cost services include family medicine, sick and urgent care, onsite lab work, chronic condition management, and more!

The County's wellness program encourages employee health and well-being through employer-sponsored health, fitness, and nutrition-based activities to inspire a whole and healthy you!
- Reimbursement available for gym or fitness program memberships.
- Holidays - The County provides thirteen (13) holidays per year.
- Personal Leave & Volunteer Leave - Full-time employees are provided with twelve (12) hours of Personal Leave and eight (8) hours of Volunteer Leave on January 1st of each year (pro-rated for new employees).
- Sick Leave - Full-time employees accrue 4.62 hours of sick leave each pay period up to 120 hours per year
Leave - Transfer of Sick Leave - Newly hired benefited employees may transfer up to 400 hours of sick leave from their previous employer.

*Regular part-time employees are eligible for pro-rated holiday and leave benefits based upon the number of hours they are scheduled to work on an annual basis.
**Health maintenance screening benefits are payable for receiving one of nearly 20 covered screening such as routine bloodwork, colonoscopy, mammogram, and stress test. Policy is "portable" meaning you can take it with you even if you leave the County or retire.
