Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring Hispanic and Latino Americans' history, culture and achievements

National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Communities mark the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans with festivals and educational activities.

While most of the country celebrates Halloween by dressing their children in costumes and asking for candy, many Latin American families celebrate their ancestors and honor the passing of loved ones in elaborate Day of the Dead celebrations.
