WELCOME
At El Camino Hospital, we are committed to providing benefits to our employees that are competitive and meet the various needs of our employees. We continually review our programs to ensure that they are effectively managed and continue to offer our employees high-quality healthcare and benefit options. We are excited to present your benefits choices for 2021.
Please take the time to review the Benefits Guide for information regarding eligibility, benefit choices, and enrollment procedures. To make benefit changes go to Workday, our online tool for benefits enrollment.
New Hires and Transfers
You must complete your benefits enrollment within 30 days from your date of hire or transfer into a benefits-eligible position. If you do not submit your benefit selections within 30 days, you will not have medical or dental coverage. For other coverage, you will be enrolled in employee-only coverage in the VSP Standard vision plan, Basic Life Insurance, $10,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Long Term Disability Insurance with a 90-day waiting period.
Family Status Changes
Unless you have a significant change in your family composition or the employment status of your spouse/state-registered domestic partner or child, you cannot make changes outside of the annual open enrollment period. If you do have a qualifying event, you will be allowed to modify your benefit selections consistent with the type of qualifying event. You must submit changes, including documentation of the event, on Workday within 30 days of the qualifying event date. All benefits changes made through any qualifying event will take effect on the 1st of the month on/after the event date.
