Milford Regional employees are dedicated to creating an environment of high-quality care. In return, we are committed to offering benefits that take care of our employees. Use the tabs at the top of this page to explore the comprehensive benefits offered to employees, including coverage options, rates, and more.
Employees are eligible for benefits if they are a part-time employee scheduled to work 24 or more hours per week or a full-time employee scheduled to work 32 or more hours per week. Benefits coverage is effective on the first day of the month following your date of hire or transfer to a benefits-eligible position.
Milford Regional offers a choice of two medical plan options, both administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA: Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and the High Deductible Health Plan Plus Health Savings Account (HDHP plus HSA).
In-network preventive care is fully covered under both plan options. Both plans also offer significant savings for seeking care at our own high-quality Milford Regional providers.
Employees have two options for dental coverage designed to make it easier to visit a dentist and minimize costs. The High plan covers dental services at a higher percentage, includes orthodontia, and covers up to four preventive cleanings a year. The Low plan provides a reduced level of dental coverage for a lower premium. Dental coverage is administered through MetLife.
Employees may elect vision coverage through Vision Service Plan (VSP). Coverage includes an annual eye exam and an allowance toward frames every 24 months or contact lenses every 12 months. Costs are lower when care is received within the VSP network, but out-of-network options may be available for some services.
Employees can elect to contribute to a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for eligible health care expenses, and/or a Dependent Care FSA to pay for eligible dependent care expenses. Pre-tax dollars are set aside to reduce taxable income. According to IRS rules, employees must enroll in the FSAs each year if they wish to contribute. Any amounts left in FSAs at the end of the year are generally forfeited (other than up to $640 in the Health Care FSA that can rollover), so plan carefully.
A health savings account (HSA) can be used to pay qualified medical expenses today, tomorrow and throughout your retirement years. Like a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), it’s funded with pre-tax dollars—but it’s not a “use-it-or-lose-it” account. Your balance carries over each year, and can be invested once it reaches a certain threshold.
