Supplemental Health Benefits
Even the best insurance can leave you with out-of-pocket costs. Supplemental medical plans through MetLife provide cash payments in the event of a significant medical expense. You can use these payments to cover out-of-pocket expenses that a benefits plan doesn't cover or spend the money in any other way you choose, such as for babysitters, transportation, or your mortgage.
Employees and eligible dependents can elect plans during Open Enrollment regardless of prior health history, and evidence of insurability (EOI) will not be required. Benefits will be paid directly to you, regardless of any other coverage in place. You pay the full cost of coverage through post-tax payroll deductions.
Accident Insurance
Major injuries are painful, but the financial impact of the medical treatment doesn’t have to be. Accident Insurance pays benefits directly to you if you suffer a covered injury such as a fracture, burn, ligament damage, or concussion. Benefits are paid even if you have other coverage.
The benefit amount is calculated based on the type of injury, its severity, and what medical services are required for treatment and recovery. The plan covers a wide variety of injuries and accident-related expenses, including injury treatment, hospitalization, physical therapy, transportation, and emergency room treatment.
Critical Illness
Medical insurance does not eliminate all the financial strain of a major illness or injury. Supplemental medical benefits, such as Critical Illness Insurance, can help cover these out-of-pocket expenses at a reasonable cost.
Covered illnesses typically include heart attack, stroke, cancer, major organ failure/transplant, coronary artery disease/bypass graft, and certain infectious diseases. The benefit is paid in addition to any other insurance coverage you may have. For specific conditions like coronary artery disease/bypass graft and certain infectious diseases, a partial benefit is paid once per lifetime.
Hospital Indemnity
If you are admitted to a hospital, it doesn’t take long for the out-of-pocket costs to add up. Hospital Indemnity Insurance pays benefits directly to you if you are admitted into a hospital for care or childbirth. Benefits are paid even if you have other coverage.
The benefit increases if you are admitted and confined to an intensive care unit. The following are covered: first-day hospital confinement, daily hospital confinement, daily Intensive Care Unit confinement, and hospital observation/short stay.

Aptia365 HUB supports you as you take on a more active role as an involved, informed health care consumer. Parexel will offer a subsidy toward the cost of this benefit.

Spending Accounts & 401(k)
You can save money on your health care and dependent care expenses by enrolling in a tax-efficient Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). The Parexel Retirement Savings Plan, administered by Fidelity, helps you prepare for retirement by offering an easy, tax-advantaged way to save for your future financial needs.
Health Savings Account
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-free account that you can use to pay for current and future medical expenses. If you're enrolled in a consumer-driven High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP with HSA), you're eligible to contribute on a pre-tax basis to an HSA administered by WEX.
An annual employer contribution of $500 for employee only coverage and $1,000 if you cover dependents is added into your account in one lump sum, the first of the year. You can use these funds to cover medical, dental and vision expenses. Money you don't spend rolls over from year to year. So, if you change jobs, switch to another medical plan or even retire, your HSA and the funds available in it are still yours to keep. You can choose to save it for eligible healthcare expenses tax-free in retirement.
You cannot use HSA funds to pay for expenses that will be reimbursed by the Garner HRA

Contact WEX: 877-248-0510
Flexible Spending Accounts
administered by WEX
FSA
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a plan that allows you to budget and save up to $3,400 of pre-tax dollars through payroll deductions to pay for qualified expenses (as defined by the IRS) incurred for the plan year.
Dollars invested in an FSA are tax-free and the entire amount is available within a few days of your first applicable payroll. Parexel allows a grace period for care through March 15, 2027 for the 2026 plan year, and for claims to be submitted through March 31, 2027. An FSA covers eligible out-of-pocket health care expenses such as medical copays, coinsurance, prescription drugs, dental and vision costs. It's available to you and any eligible dependents including spouse, children and any other person who is a qualified IRS dependent. FSA funds are use it or lose it, so plan carefully when trying to decide if and how much you'd like to contribute. Funds remaining after March 31 are forfeited.
You cannot use HSA funds to pay for expenses that will be reimbursed by the Garner HRA
Dependent Care FSA
A Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) is a pre-tax benefit account that allows you to set aside money to pay for eligible dependent care expenses. These expenses can include childcare, adult daycare, preschool, summer day camp, and before or after school programs. The purpose of a DCFSA is to help you and your spouse work, look for work, or attend school full-time while still being able to care for your dependents.
The limit is $7,500 for single filers and couples filing jointly, and $3,750 for married couples filing separately. Any contributions that exceed the limit are treated as taxable income. You can't change your contribution amount for the year unless you experience a qualifying event, such as a change in your marital status, employment status, or the number of dependents you have. Dependent Care funds are use it or lose it, so plan carefully when trying to decide if and how much you'd like to contribute. There is no grace period for a dependent care account. Funds remaining after December 31 are forfeited.
Combination Limited Purpose FSA
The Combination Limited Purpose FSA works the exact same way as the healthcare FSA except it can only be used for eligible Dental and Vision expenses and can be used in conjunction with an HSA. It allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible Dental and Vision expenses not covered by your dental and vision plans. Only dental and vision expenses are allowed until you meet the IRS- required medical deductible of $1,700 for individual and $3,400 for family, then eligible medical and prescription drug expenses are allowed.
You decide how much money you want to place in your Limited Purpose FSA based on your estimated dental and vision expenses for the coming plan year. This amount will be deducted on a pre-tax basis each pay period and contributed to your Limited FSA Account. It is important to note a FSA is use-it or lose-it, so plan carefully when trying to decide if and how much you'd like to contribute. Funds remaining after March 31 are forfeited.
You cannot use Combination FSA funds to pay for expenses that will be reimbursed by the Garner HRA

Commuter Benefits
Did you know you could reduce your work-related commuting and parking expenses by enrolling in Commuter Benefits?
Our commuter benefits allow you to use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible work-related transit and parking expenses. This account is separate from a healthcare flexible spending account, or FSA, that assists with eligible healthcare expenses, though they are sometimes referred to as Commuter or Transit FSAs.
Currently, the IRS limits pre-tax contributions to commuter benefits accounts. Other than the amount you choose to contribute, there’s no cost to maintain a commuter benefits account. The IRS limits tend to change annually so be sure to look up the current monthly contribution limits on www.irs.gov.
